Duties

Outside Employment
No teacher shall hold outside employment which in the judgment of the board is detrimental to his position in the school system, nor shall it be permissible for a teacher to be employed by any other agency during the regular school day except by special permission of the school board.

Additional Compensation
The district shall grant leave for any district employee who is summoned for jury duty on a scheduled workday. The district shall determine the difference between the salary paid by the district and that paid by the Court and establish the share to be paid by the district.
The district may also grant professional leave for teachers to attend conferences or work on various projects. If the leave falls on a schoolwork day and there is compensation, the district shall determine the difference between the salary paid by the district and that paid by the conference and establish the share to be paid by the district
Daily Schedule
Teachers shall observe the daily schedules as outlined by the superintendent and principals. The basic current schedule requires teachers to report for work at 8:00 A.M. and remain at the school until 4:00 PM.
Playground Supervision
Playground supervision shall be under the direction of the principal. Supervision by individual teachers of their groups shall be required. During inclement weather children must be admitted when they arrive at school.
Daily Program
At the opening of each semester, teachers shall prepare a time schedule in duplicate which shall show the studies and class exercises presented in their rooms and shall file one copy with the principal for his inspection and approval and one copy in the teacher’s plan book.
Locking of Rooms
All rooms shall be locked during noon hour and at the close of the day.
Storm Days
In general the storm policy shall be as follows:
Schools will be in session during each day that the buses operate. The buildings are to be open and warm and teachers on duty. School days lost shall be made up in the spring of the year. In case of inclement weather during the day, the superintendent shall call the buses and send the children home. This shall also apply to school activities. No child is to be sent home because of storm without permission from the superintendent or principal. Notice of closing of school will be made by radio over local stations.
